RISU: This Year 190 Ukrainian Muslims go to Hajj

In early November, millions of Muslims around the world go to Hajj - pilgrimage to the main shrine of Islam, the Holy Kaaba in Makkah. This year to Makkah for Hajj leaves delegation of Ukrainian pilgrims from various regions of Ukraine totalling 190 people, including 39 women - the largest number in the history of independent Ukraine.

As RISU was informed in the press-service of "Alraid", the first group of pilgrims (100 persons) departed on 5th of November from the airport Borispol. Another group departed from Donetsk. Departure of the third group (40 persons) will take place on November, 10th, from the Islamic Cultural Center of Kiev. Among the pilgrims there are few Ukrainian couples seeking to implement this ordinance together.

With organization and administration of Ukrainian pilgrims is engaged the Council of Religious Administrations and Centers of Muslims of Ukraine at the State Committee of Ukraine on Nationalities and Religions.

The Council agreed on Ukrainian quota with the Ministry of Hajj of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for two consecutive years and intends to take an active part in organizing Hajj of Muslims of Ukraine.

Hajj  is the greatest rite of worship in Islam, that at least once a life-time must be performed by every believer.
