More than 1000 students in Ukraine Entered Sunday Schools in 2009/2010 Academic Year

Saturday afternoon on October, 3, in the Islamic Cultural Center took place a public opening of the new academic year in the Arabic language school "Al-Nur".

The atmosphere in the room was warm and friendly. 250 new students were enrolled in the school to study the Arabic language and to get acquainted with the culture and traditions of the East.

At the opening made speeches the chairman of the Social Organization "An-Nur" Mohammed Egbariya, the school director Mohammed Ismail, the head of the female department "Maryam" Susanna Ismailova and the head of the department of familiarizing with the culture of the East Tareq Sarhan. The speakers expressed their congratulations and wishes for success in the mastering of one of the oldest languages in the world.

Mohammed Egbariya noted a growing interest in studying of the Arabic language in
Ukraine. For example, the first set of the school not so long ago was only about 20-30 people, and now this number increased by 7-8 times. Certainly there are much more willing to enter the school, but the potential of the school can not afford to accept more students.

The School Director Mohammed Ismail briefed the newcomers to the educational process and read out the rules of attendance. Suzanne Ismailova invited girls to participate in events organized by the female department, and Tareq Sarhan attracted interest of the audience in the presence on the lessons on culture.

At the end of the activities the graduates were given diplomas and commemorative souvenirs, 40 of whom graduated from the school cum laude.

After the ceremony all were invited to taste the oriental sweets.

Sunday schools operate in the public organizations in the largest cities of Ukraine - Kiev, Simferopol, Odessa, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhya, Lviv, Vinnitsa, Lugansk, Poltava,
Sumy and Chernivtsi.
