IVth All-Ukrainian Islamic Studies Competition of Young Researchers

“Alraid” together with “Ukrainian Center of Islamic Studies” held IV^th All-Ukrainian Islamic Studies Competition of Young Researchers on the topic “Islamic Civilization: History and Modernity”.

The competition receives scholarly papers on religious studies, history, source study, cultural science, art criticism, philology, jurisprudence, economy and other branches of sciences which investigate the given topic. The topic of the competition has no geographical, chronological, political and other corresponding limits and can cover all regions of the modern world. Sub-topic of the competition can be any issue which concerns various aspects of Islamic civilization.

In the competition take part students, post-graduate students, competitors, young teachers of high schools of III–IV accreditation levels, scientific employees of research institutes, analysts and experts, workers of museums, archives, libraries, and social organizations of Ukraine under 35. Religious, national, political, social and other status does not matter. Materials sent can be written by one author or up to three authors. The researches can later be used for scientific papers of the competition participants, such as course and diploma papers, dissertations, etc. The competition does not receive papers already awarded by premiums and represented in other competitions.

The competition winners get the following premiums. The first premium – 3000 grivnas, the second premium – 2000 grivnas, and the third premium – 1500 grivnas. Five participants whose works are written on rather high level get incentive premiums – 500 grivnas. The competition winners also get honourable letters and books for personal usage and libraries of educational organizations or places of their work. Every participant whose work is written in accordance with scientific and technical requirements but did not pass the competitive selection is encouraged by a gift.

Scientific papers should be sent not later then the 1^st of November, 2008 on the address of “Alraid” Association.
