Buy A Sacrificial Animal, Feed The Hungry!

30.09.2014 / 758

Eid al-Adha is a very special feast teaching us to have care and mercy for those who have less. While buying festive gifts for your family and friends in order to strengthen relative bonds and good attitude between you, please remember those who can face this day not only without gifts but without full festive meal as well. Think of those who have to worry if they have food and shelter every single day. And it would have been a different matter if such people had to care only for themselves, but they often have young children whose growing organisms demand regular and verified nutrition, or the elderly members of the family, who got weak as they aged on the top of it all, — which is much harder. But we, the Muslims, won’t fail to extend the helping hand to those people, especially on the special day like this — will we not?

You don’t have to buy an animal, slaughter it personally and then look for people who have hope to get some qurban meet on this day yourself. All you need to do is donate the necessary sum with an intention to make a Qurban on behalf of your family, and we, in close partnership with RAMU “Umma”, will do the rest for you.

One sacrificial sheep or ram costs UAH 1,300 this year. This money can either be donated by online payment system (please indicate “Qurban for needy people” in the “Destination of Donation” menu) or handed to the Imaam of the Kyiv Islamic Cultural Centre Mosque in person. All the funds raised will be used to purchase the sacrificial animals, whose meat will be dispensed among the needy people, — both local and forced resettlers from Crimea and Donbass.

Remember that sacrificing with open heart not only brings you closer to the God Almighty, but also puts a path to the hearts of people who received help during the hard period of their lives. And choosing RAMU “Umma” as your agent in this good deed  allows not only more effective centralized distribution among the needy people, but also keeps your good deed in secret, as those are more appreciated in the eyes of God.
