“Alraid” gives Muslim pupils original daybooks

03.10.2012 / 1377
Distribution of school daybooks with Islamic design and printed in Ukrainian among orphan children began last weekend in Crimea. The action will continue next weekend. The expected number of distributed daybooks is 3000. Another 1000 are meant for distribution to all Muslims who wishes and has children of school age.
Everyone who would like to have such daybook for his/her child going to school can address the local organization of his/her city, incorporated in “Alraid”, or to send on-line message on “Alraid” address office@arraid.org, with indicating own name and surname, date of the child’s birth, contact phone and postal address (carriage can be made only on the Ukrainian territory).
For learning and excitement
According to Mrs.Olga Fryndak, deputy-head of the women’s public organization “Mariyam”, the idea of creating a daybook like this came to mind once many Ukrainian Muslim mothers faced the problem of selecting the daybook for their schoolchildren. All the products of the kind available in the stores contain images of semi-naked celebrities and propagation of values that are alien to moral upbringing of the younger generation. “We liked to create a nice daybook with useful information for our schoolchildren. Editorial board that worked on this project tried to pick up varieties of useful data for information modules put at the bottom of the page. They contain exciting facts from Islamic history and culture, scientific discoveries, pillars of morality, history of Crimean peninsula and memorials of Muslim architecture on the Ukrainian territory. We cared that such information, apart from being useful, should be displayed in a format attracting children of school age”.
Caring about schoolchildren’s health
Mrs.Fatyma Amrullayeva, head of the “Alraid” department on women, family teenagers and children affairs, says that not only contents but format as well was a focal issue in daybooks’ design, as they were made by the standard after scrutinizing several copies adopted by the Ukrainian Ministry for Education and Science. Apart from this, color range was chosen in a way to avoid weariness of schoolchild’s eyes; a number of requirements were put to printing and paper for the same reason”.
