Religious Administration of Muslims of Ukraine “Umma”, according to the decision of European Council for Fatwa and Research, announces that Ramadan begins on the eve of 26 May, with 27 May as the first day of fasting.

All-Ukrainian Association “Alraid” and RAMU “Umma” are keen to congratulate all Muslims upon the arrival of the Holy month of Ramadan and wish us all to have strong faith, spiritual refinement and God’s contentment. And, of course, do not waste your effort by doing harm to either yourself or the others.

Is It Wise To Destroy the Fruit of Your Good Deeds?

For Muslims, fasting is the time of spiritual purification, getting closer to God and rethinking the past life. The believers refrain from eating, drinking and maritalsexual contacts fromdawn to sunset. By staying away from something allowed and lawful when fasting, the believers train themselves to stay away from something forbidden, and it’s easier for them to avoid sins once Ramadan is over and the temptations increase.

However, the Creator gave us all a clear warning through His Messenger: "Whoever does not give up forged speech and evil actions, Allah is not in need of his leaving his food and drink (i.e. Allah will not accept his fasting.)" So, when busy with their everyday life, the believers at the same time try to worship God more and are more reverent in their worship; they get more conscious about their thoughts, words and deeds and fear to be unjust towards both themselves (by destroying the rewards for their good deeds with sins) and the others, both Muslims and non-Muslims.

Expected Date of Eid al-Fitr

When the new Moon is seen, it marks the end of Ramadan and the beginning of the Fast-Breaking Feast, Eid al-Fitr, which climaxes the month of fasting. According to the preliminary calculation, it is due on 25 June 2017.
