In the festive day of Eid al-Fitr hundreds thousand believers all over Ukraine had been hurrying on their way to Mosques, Islamic Cultural Centres and Prayer Rooms to perform the Festive and celebrate the Holy Month of Ramadan termination. Several thousand believers among them came to the “Alraid” Islamic Cultural Centres. As the capacity of those buildings is not enough to let everyone pray inside, many people pray outside in the yard.

Kyiv

About 2,000 people came to Kyiv Islamic Cultural Centre  for the festive prayer in the day of Eid. After the prayer the deputy head of AUASO “Alraid” Ismail Qady greeted everyone with this glorious day and invoked to be more kind and attentive to others. He also asked Muslims to pray for the peoples of Syria, Egypt and Myanma unwillingly involved in a bloody conflict.

Results of the Childrens Qur’an Reciters Competition which was held during the last days of Ramadan were also announced during the children's entertainment programme at the Kyiv ICC. Little Muslims also received gifts from the “An-Noor” organisation, i.e. sweets and bubbles. Portable stall selling cotton candies was also at the kids’ disposal.

Crimea

More than 450 people attended the festive prayer at the Simferopol ICC. Visitors were invited for sweet buffet, and the volunteers who did a great piece of work hosting iftars and itikaaf during last ten days of Ramadan were asked for a joint festive meal.

Women and kids had their own separate festive programmes including concerts and competitions. Little Muslims also received sweets on this festive day.

Lviv

The “En-Nebras” centre in Lviv was filled with children's voices for the first time during this year’s Eid al-Fitr: the toddlers grew up and got old enough to attend the mosque and behave more or less serious.

The little building of Lviv ICC accommodated more than 200 believers. After the prayer everybody was asked to join the sweet buffet, and the little ones got presents, namely books and sweets.

Luhansk

More than 800 people of different ages attended the Cathedral mosque in Luhansk for performing the festive prayer. Nobody was upset when it got clear that the mosque is too small to accommodate everyone; fortunately the sunny weather allowed people to pray in the yard.

After the festive prayer both adults and kids were presented with sweets, and about 150 local Muslim activists were invited for festive meal.

Odessa

Odessa Muslims performed the festive prayer in a special pavillion which could accommodate everyone. More than 600 adults and 100 children attended the prayer. Little Muslims received gifts due to this blessed date.

The inhabitants of the city of Odessa like their Muslim Community, and there’s no wonder they do, as local Muslims are very actively involved in social and charity projects and arrange different events for developing interfaith and intercultural dialogue to gain peace and understanding.

When sharing their impressions on the feast the Muslims of Odessa expressed their sincere gratitude for their compatriots for that wonderful attitude they face in their everyday life.

Donetsk

More than 250 people attended the festive prayer in the capital of Donbass. Women and children had separate programmes after the prayer and the treating as well.

Besides, Donetsk ICC continues to arrange public iftars on Mondays and Thursdays during the month of Shawwal to support those believers who are fasting during Shawwal after the Prophet Muhammad’s (peace and blessings be upon him) Sunnah.

Zaporizhzhya

Zaporizhzhya became another city where the winners of the Children’s Qur’an Recitation Competition were announced in the day of Eid. After the festive prayer attended by more than 300 people the winners were rewarded with purses and the rest of the participants got the runner-up prizes.

Besides, the young visitors of the Zaporizhzhya ICC Mosque received gifts and took part in different games and competitions.
