II International Scientific and Practical Conference “Islam and Islamic Studies in Ukraine” was held on September 27, 2012. It is organized by the Institute for Informatics and Artificial Intellect at National Technical University (Donetsk), The Center for Religious Studies and International Religious Relations, the Religious Administration of Muslims of Ukraine “Ummah”, and the All-Ukrainian Association of Public Organizations “Alraid”.

Themes for discussion covered: history of Islam in Ukraine, current trends of Islam in Ukraine and Europe, Islam in Crimea (problems and prospects), Islamic studies in Ukraine, “Arab spring” as a social and religious phenomenon. Working languages were Ukrainian, Russian, and English.
