Muslims Participated in Discussion of Social Work in Ukraine during Conference in Kiev Roman Catholic University
Kiev. - On Saturday, October, 20, Roman Catholic Foma Akvinsky theological university of religious sciences carried out a conference "On crossroads of spirit and world". The meeting was dedicated to interconfessional cooperation in creation of sociological programs in Ukraine. Among the invited there were representatives of different creeds and faiths. At the meeting were discussed problems of realization of social programs in realities of Ukrainian society which essence lies in inconsistency of legislative base of our country. Taking as an example work of a house for homeless children in Fastov Father Mikhaylo recounted how many problems face those who work in this area. The similar story was on the part of representatives of Vikentiy de Pol Society, too, who illustrated their speech by the examples of work with homeless people. Said Ismagilov made a speech on the part of Association "Alraid". He paid attention of the audience to the concepts of tolerance in the society which consists of representatives of different outlooks. Explaining principles of social doctrine of Islam, Ismagilov by examples from history and also by quoting the Holy Quran disclosed the character of tolerance and social activity of Islamic doctrines. By the example of activity of Association "Alraid" the audience could get familiar with Islamic social work in Ukraine. It was told about such projects as help for orphan children (at the present time "Alraid" maintains more than 400 orphan children), drilling of bore-holes for drinking water in Crimea, a cow for a needy family, help to children's homes across the whole Ukraine, and also charitable and moral help for of prisoners, etc. The audience with interest listened to the report of representatives of "Alraid" after which came through questions. All those who gathered united in opinion to continue similar meetings and to arrange closer cooperation in the field of social work. Informational Department of "Alraid"
