In Kiev Islamic Cultural Center Took Place Seminar "Help Your Child"
Kiev, September, 9. - Parents often face problems when their kid enters the new period of his life - goes in the first class. How to help the child? How to explain to him in a correct way that studying is an important aspect in his life? These and many other questions were answered by the practicing psychologist Yana Omelchenko. The meeting was organized by the female organization "Maryam".
In her report Yana Оmelchenko first of all remarked that the first class is a script of the future studying. She also emphasized that exactly during this important for the child time one should pay attention to the first "signals" of the problems in order to prevent their development into infinite stress for the child in the future.
The main task of the parents is preservation of positive attitude to studying. It is important that both parents and children should understand that studying is some kind of a work, too, which he should treat with earnestness and interest.
The psychologist also named principal causes of stressful conditions of schoolboys and schoolgirls. First of all, it is unavailability of the child to school both physically and psychologically. For the children of six are essential elements of a game in educational process. Secondly, it is constant criticism from teachers and relatives. Studying means mistakes; if there are none, it means, that the material is too primitive. The child needs to be supported, and here it is important to know when to stop in order not to accustom the child to irresponsibility. To the reasons of occurrence of stress it is also possible to add features of the modern curriculum where there is a lot of theoretical information which often does not interest children. Also Yana Omelchenko spoke about other important reasons of occurrence of stressful condition with children and how to avoid it.
Actual for our time themes were also mentioned. As it is known computer technologies and TV is widely used even by small children. In this connection audience had a lot of questions on this topic. For example, what cartoon films it is allowed to watch not to injure mentality of children, what TV-programs to choose.
At the end of the seminar the psychologist with great pleasure answered all the questions which appeared during the conversation.
