Islamic Cultural Centers

During 10 years there were opened seven Islamic Cultural Centers, which are functioning now - in Kiev, Simferopol, Odessa, Vinnitsa, Donertsk, Zaporozhye and Kharkov. All of them are located in premises restored specifically for them nearby the central parts of the cities. Centers contain spacious premises for prayer, libraries with a rich collection of literature on Islam and oriental culture, accommodate children Sunday schools teaching Arabic and oriental culture, female departments and youth clubs, gyms, internet clubs, conference halls and cafes.

In the building of the Kyiv Center, the most spacious of all, accommodates the central office of “Arraid”, while the regional office of the Association is located in Simferopol. Regional and social organizations that are incorporated in “Arraid” are also situated in the Centers.

Frequent visitors of multiple actions arranged by the Center are leaders of regional and Muslim communities in Ukraine and other NIS countries, representatives of diplomatic missions from the countries of Islamic East, Russia and the USA, high Ukrainian officials, followers of various religions and confessions, representatives from the national scientific and cultural elite, students from university departments for religious studies, oriental studies, studies of the Arab world, etc.

All this shows the evidence of the mutual acknowledgement of the Centers’ important role in cultural dialogue between the East and the West.
